HBCUProfessor.org is a website administered and maintained by the (TMCF) that consists of commentaries and white papers* focused on the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); as well as economics and higher education. In addition, current news headlines on will be featured, highlighting the success of HBCUs.
HBCUProfessor.org aims to increase research resources and information for HBCU faculty that is innovative and instructive. Published daily, TMCF content managers provide quality control in order to fulfill the mission of the blog website. Additionally, each month, a prominent HBCU chief administrator offers commentary on contemporary issues affecting HBCUs in the context of American society.
Thurgood Marshall College Fund recognizes the significant contribution that historically Black college and university (HBCU) faculty members play in educating students. Higher education scholars contend HBCUs are more nurturing, supportive, and offer an academic environment that advances academic success. In addition, the meaningful amount of time that the 14,000 faculty at more than 100 HBCUs dedicate to teaching diminishes their obligation to research endeavors and scholarly activities.
HBCUProfessor.org is a tool where faculty offer working papers and commentary on fields of economics; science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM); as well as higher education. Faculty will offer critical work and assessment of these topics. The searchable scholarship will be available indefinitely to individuals and organizations interested in the HBCU community.
* A white paper is a report or guide that often addresses problems and how to solve them. White papers are used to educate readers and help people make decisions. A white paper typically argues a specific position or solution to a problem. Although white papers take their roots in governmental policy, they have become a common tool used to introduce innovative technology and products.
